Mars is the fourth planet from Sol, and Earth's closest planetary neighbor. Currently nothing but a red dust bowl of planet, Mars was once the homeworld of the Martians before they were rendered extinct during Operation SPACELOCUST. It was the primary headquarters of the Operation SPACELOCUST Nurturers as opposed to Earth, where the various species could watch over their experiments without directly interfering with their upbringing.

Despite man's more common beliefs, Mars is not quite a dead planet: Several formerly desert-dwelling species survived Mars' catastrophe and now continue to survive, albeit hard to find and often solitary by nature. Small ecosystems continue to exist within the numerous cylindrical caverns found around Arsia Mons.

Amalgam OnlineEdit

In the Amalgam Online continuity, Mars is still very much populated with vast numbers of Martian species, who are varied on their opinions on humankind.
