The Hammerzhark are one of the various species of Zharkulans native to oceanic world of Zharkul. They like all most Zharkulans became dominated by the Grand Zharkulans. When the Grand Zharkulans discovered other various alien species after their foray into space, they learned that not all sapients were hyper-aggressive as they themselves, and thus the Grand Zharkulans attempted to control their violent nature. Several other Zharkulans races followed, including the Hammerzhark. The notable exception was the Abyssal Zharkulans, which as a result of their wanton destruction of other races were imprisoned on their own homeworld by the combined armies of the Grand Zharkulan, Hammerzhark and various other Zharkulans.
Many Hammerzhark choose to enter particularly violent professions, one well-known choice is that of a space hunter. While they may serve the Crux Space Piracy, they are never found serving the Scourge, who will kill them on sight. Many have also come to be found amongst the Iskian Empire and the UFCL, as well.
A notable Hammerzhark is Jabh, who has joined the ranks of Spontus to terrorize worlds, letting his violent instincts to get the better of him in a similar manner to the better-known Lord Transpose.
